New market development
Client brief
Our client had recently set up a new National Sales Company covering several North European markets. In order to decide which aftersales programmes would be appropriate to implement in each market we were asked to conduct strategic research across all the markets covering specifically the aftersales channels opportunities and competitive pressures.
Our solution
We developed a research solution of four work streams for each market and established a joint venture approach with a local consultancy with whom we had an existing relationship so the work could be carried out remotely and in each of the markets through desktop analysis, mystery shopping and personal interviews.
Result
All 4 work streams were delivered in time for the client’s next fiscal year planning process and highlighted a priority of development needs based on key metrics such as market opportunity, market shares, competitor activities, logistics and pricing.
Global sales forecasting
Client brief
Provide a robust technical solution that enables the collation, analysis and reporting of global sales forecasts.
Our solution
Careful consideration was given to the data collection process itself and an intuitive and simple data collection tool was developed for use by the client. A bespoke VBA user interface module was developed to enable the client to automatically process data submissions and translate the data extracted into an Access Database. Automated reporting was provided using a suite of high quality Excel reporting templates
Result
Client can process 60+ data submissions in a fraction of the time that was previously required. The system is robust and is an indispensable element of the client’s Management Information system. Now in it’s sixth year of use!
